Certis Security Australia hosts Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea

Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is an essential, national fundraising effort for Cancer Council, and one that Certis Security Australia is proud to support. As 1 in 8 Australians are diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85, individual fundraising events like these are particularly important. All funds raised go towards cancer research, providing practical information and support to families affected by cancer, and prevention campaigns, including screenings and vaccinations. The research funded by Cancer Council efforts has increased Australian cancer survival rates by 20% in the last 30 years.

This year, Certis Security Australia joined over 19,000 individuals and businesses registered as hosts of the Biggest Morning Tea, with more than 70 staff attending gatherings held in Certis’ offices. In the Sydney Head Office, Chief Executive Tom Roche hosted the festivities and spoke about the importance of supporting Cancer Council’s work, while Office Manager Andrea Martic and Administration Officer Keri Tran offered their support by providing delicious home-baked goods. Everyone participated with a gold coin donation and a raffle was organised to raise additional funds for Cancer Council, and Tran was rewarded for her efforts with the winning raffle ticket.

Staff also gathered at Certis Security Australia’s Sydney Airport office to hold their own morning tea and raised extra funds with a dedicated donation tin.

Over $2,000 was raised, with Certis Security Australia tripling all staff donations.

“The Biggest Morning Tea is a great chance to get together as a team and support a wonderful local initiative, whose support so many Australians rely on,” said Martic.  “We’re lucky at Certis Security Australia to be able to give back in a meaningful way while enjoying time together.”

The Biggest Morning Tea is a unique opportunity for varied businesses and individuals to organise events that bring people together while raising awareness and essential funds for a cause that affects so many Australians. Whether these celebrations are in person in the office or in the home, or even held virtually, each one makes a difference, and Certis Security Australia is eager to continue being part of these efforts.
