As we approach the end of the year, we like to highlight the exemplary work of our team members. The Certis Pinnacle Awards are a chance to celebrate excellence across our organisation and offer some well-deserved recognition to our colleagues across the country.
The Pinnacle Awards are Certis’ highest accolade, awarded to the best of the best in the business each year. Held annually, all employees are invited to nominate colleagues in two categories – Excellence in Business Support and Take Charge & Go The Extra Mile. These awards are presented to multiple teams and individuals who show their skills and commitment to customer experience every day. Finalists are selected by an elected committee and winners chosen by a Judging Panel made up of Senior Leaders from Australia and Singapore.
"Each year, we see more nominations for the Certis Pinnacle Awards, and this is a testament to the excellent performance and outstanding contributions of our staff, despite challenging times,” said Rosanna Paratschek, National Manager of Remuneration & Benefits. “This year we received over 180 nominations from across Australia. It's been wonderful to see the level of respect and support our colleagues offer each other.”
Two teams were honoured for Excellence in Business Support. Skye Soininen and Gregory Caruso accepted the award for the ACT Rostering (Protective Services) team. Their outstanding rostering and negotiating skills have guaranteed a high fill rate for the ACT across multiple sites, each with totally different requirements.
Our Talent Acquisition Team, based in our Sydney Head Office, also received an award for Excellence in Business Support. Responsible for managing recruitment for the entire Australian business, Tony Conforti’s team includes Paige Malynn, Debrupa Majumdar and Affzal Ismail. Over the last 12 months, the Talent Acquistion Team has offered incredible support to Certis Security Australia, filling over 400 roles and managing high vacancy numbers through strong teamwork, commendable organisational skills and professionalism.
The Individual Pinnacle Award for Excellence in Business Support went to Health, Safety & Environment Manager Luciano Gallina, who consistently goes above and beyond the scope of his role to provide exceptional business support. Over the last year, Luciano has provided multiple successful Risk Assessments and was instrumental in developing manual handling training to benefit aviation staff. Clients have also specifically requested him for Health, Safety & Environment training.
Our South Australian Security Team consistently go above and beyond what is required when managing the security of a major shopping centre. Aaron Tolosa, Marilyn Kindleyside, Dennis Herbert, John Morley and Steven Baynes ensure the safety of retailers and customers. They provide exceptional customer service, medical assistance and compliance checks daily, and even received a special commendation from the shopping centre earlier this year.
The final Certis Pinnacle Award for 2021 went to Sylvana Tarraf, National Manager, Injury Management, who received the individual Take Charge & Go The Extra Mile commendation. Sylvana was recognised for her compassionate and caring approach to staff at all levels of the business, which is greatly valued by her colleagues. In one incident late last year, Sylvana’s quick thinking was displayed when assisting a colleague in distress. She was composed, confident and professional while supporting her colleague, ensuring they remained calm and comfortable.
Congratulations to our incredible winners, who each received cash prizes, a personalised trophy and a certificate signed by our President and Group CEO, Mr. Paul Chong! We could not have managed this year without their phenomenal efforts. Well done, team!
